There might be a delay if the moderator has to approve your subscription request.

Please read the following guidelines and abide by the rules as far
as possible. If your posting to the list is rejected by the moderator
then it is highly likely that you have failed to comply with one or more
of the rules.
Innocent mistakes, made due to ignorance or lack of understanding
will be tolerated, but serious violations especially in regards to
pornography, spamming and spreading of viruses will not be tolerated and will be dealt with promptly and severely! Violators will be instantly banned from the lists and the matter reported to the university authorities.

* No attachments and executable files that could spread viruses are allowed. If possible send ONLY e-mail text messages.
* Large Attachments (> 5Mb) of ANY sort may not be sent to this mailing list as they occupy large amount of mailbox space. These message will be immediately rejected and removed from the list.
* Messages with no Subject lines, containing special font formatting, or with Subject lines that do not clearly state what the contents of the message are will be rejected immediately. e.g Subjects like "Hi there!" or "You gotta check this out!" are not acceptable. However subjects like: "Attention all 1st years - Carnival Photos are here!" or "MBChB IV Clinical Rotation" as an example, are acceptable!
* Discuss any unusual request first with the list moderator at clgroenewald@sun.ac.za before posting.
* The use of this list to send advertisements for private businesses outside the university is not permitted. This includes students/personnel with private "home industries" or acting as sales representatives for outside companies.
* Chain letters, known "spam" (unsolicited commercial e-mail advertisements), so-called virus warnings, and other unsolicited "forwarded" messages with in appropriate content (including petitions and "forward this to 10 people and get $10" messages) are prohibited.
* Please do not use obscene language on this list. Also, any image/s that contain nudity or content that is generally considered to be obscene or pornographic are not allowed on this list.
* Posting links to pornographic images or inappropriate content to this list is expressly prohibited.
* If you are requiring more help as to how to administer your subscriptions and your settings, you can either send mail to sympa@sympa.sun.ac.za with the command "HELP" in the Subject line (without the quotation marks) or use your Internet browser to go to https://sympa.sun.ac.za/wws and administer your account settings that way.
* This list is run by GERGA and is an official mailing list for the Tygerberg Campus. This list is solely for the use as a communications medium to the Tygerberg Green Committee and associated members.
* This is not a general chat list, so please try to keep the topics centered around announcements, advertisements, requests and general news items. General discussions are allowed within limits. The listmaster reserves the right to remove offending posts that are cluttering or overloading the mail server.
* No surveys, questionnaires, or opinion polls may be sent out using this
mailing list unless first cleared by the moderator.
* For any unusual requests such as attaching PDFs or Word Forms for smaller groups (less than 150 members), the moderator or owner of that list must be contacted and approval obtained before the mail is sent out.
* Please respect the Moderator's requests to take threads or discussions off this list whenever the Moderator deems them inappropriate.
* Flaming and "trolls" are not permitted on this list. A flame is defined as publicly berating or belittling someone via e-mail. A troll is defined a someone who posts messages intended to enrage other list members en masse. If you have personal problems with another list member, please do via private e-mail to that person. If a person on this list is harrassing you via private mail, please contact the moderator of the list for immediate resolution of the issue.
* By default all new subscribers are subscribed in "SINGLE MESSAGE" mode. All messages sent to the mail list are sent out individually. You may change this to the DIGEST mode, which combines all mails sent in one day in one mail. Postings will therefore be approved by the moderator and sent out once daily during the mornings - Mondays to Fridays. Messages set to the list after the daily post has been sent will only be sent on the following day or in the case of weekend postings, the next working day.
