STIAS, the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study, is an autonomous research organisation hosted at the historic Mostertsdrift Estate. It was established by a decision of the Stellenbosch University Council in 1999 and registered in 2007 as a section 21 (not-for-profit) company with its own Board of Directors.
